After a few months of intensive use, the functionality of the free version was blocked without prior notice, on suspicion of commercial use. The program quickly became an essential ally for me and my small group of collaborators. Therefore, I am interested in relating a specific and particular experience: I started using TeamViewer (free version) in early 2020 when the onset of the pandemic in Latin America forced me to initiate (virtually) continuous contact with the public hospital where I work as an intensive care physician, in order to follow the activity of my unit in real time and make decisions "24 x 7". The features of the program are widely known to all. But by saying that I am not telling anything new. It is without doubt the leading program in its field. TeamViewer has extraordinary functionality and robustness, even in its free version. TeamViewer is (almost) as extraordinary as its people. This company does not care about their customers, they only care about the almighty dollar. As you can see, Teamviewer responded to my review with more "canned" responses. That is NOT the definition of "perpetual." Now, Teamviewer is trying to offer me 50% off the regular subscription price "for life", but at this point I no longer trust Teamviewer as a company and will be looking for a replacement product once my "perpetual" license stops working. Ultimately, they "appeased" us by allowing our "perpetual" licenses to continue until 10 years from purchase date, at which time it will stop working.

Teamviewers's response initially was canned quotes and lots of BS. At the time of this announcement, there was a large outcry from Teamviewer customers. I will no longer be able to connect to my customers remotely via the internet. Without "Server" services the product only works on the local LAN which is pointless. Then Teamviewer changed their pricing structure to a subscription based system and said they would be discontinuing "Server" services for my version of Teamviewer. I spent thousands of dollars on a "perpetual" license of Teamviewer 10 and was led to believe that it would work in perpetuity. However, as a company they are not to be trusted. In my experience, their customer service sucks, but their technical support is pretty good. Technically, Teamviewer Remote Control is an excellent product with a superb feature set.
